If your subscription payment doesn't go through, don't worry. Here's how to fix it quickly.
What happens when payment fails
We'll email you about the failed payment, and a banner will appear in your Apron account with a link to fix the problem. Your account stays active while you fix the payment, giving you time to resolve the issue with no immediate service disruption.
How to fix a failed payment
Check the notification by looking for the email or banner in your account explaining what went wrong. Click the link in the email or banner, which takes you to your invoice history, where you'll see the failed invoice at the top.
You'll see two options: Update payment method to change your payment details, or Try again to retry with your current payment method.
Common reasons payments fail
Card issues include: expired cards, insufficient funds, cards blocked by your bank, or the wrong details being entered.
Bank account issues include: insufficient funds, closed accounts, cancelled Direct Debits, or bank security measures.
Fixing different problems
For expired cards, click Update payment method and enter your new card details. This automatically prompts the payment to retry.
For insufficient funds, add money to your account and click Try again to retry the payment.
If the wrong details have been entered, click Update payment method, double-check that all details are correct, save and then retry.
What happens after you fix it
Once you’ve updated your payment method, we will automatically try to charge you again. The failed invoice status changes to Paid once the payment goes through, the warning banner disappears, and everything goes back to normal.
If you can't fix it quickly
If payment isn't resolved within 2 weeks after the invoice due date, your account will be temporarily suspended. Once the issue has been fixed, your account is reactivated immediately.
Your data is always safe, even if your account is temporarily suspended.

Tip: The quickest fix is usually to update your payment method, as this automatically prompts the payment to retry.
