Using the Apron mobile app

All you need to know about using our Mobile App for uploading invoices and receipts.

In our mobile app, you can easily upload purchase documents (e.g., invoices or receipts), which will appear in the Apron desktop portal. You can also request reimbursement for receipts you paid personally. For now, it’s not possible to review, publish, export documents, or make payments from the app – these actions are available in the desktop version.

Downloading the app and logging in

Note: If you forget your password, you can reset it in the desktop version. Your new password will also work for the mobile app.

If you belong to more than one company on Apron, you can choose which company to upload documents for. To switch companies, tap the company name at the top of the Home screen.

Available sections

The mobile app is split into the following sections:

  • Home – View your latest uploaded documents and add new ones. For historical documents, check the desktop version of Apron.

  • Settings – View your details, log out, choose whether to save photos to your device’s gallery, or contact our Support team.

  • Cards – This is a central hub for managing your Apron Expense Cards. While we’re working on enabling this feature for all of our customers soon, you can join the waitlist to get early access directly from this section.

Uploading documents via the app

  • Tap the ‘+’ button on the Home screen to upload new documents. If you need reimbursement for a receipt you paid personally, select the ‘Request reimbursement’ option. Otherwise, you can use the ‘Capture receipts’ option.

  • You can upload documents by either taking a photo or selecting one from your device’s gallery or files.

  • If you want to upload more than one photo, tap the ‘+Add more’ button when taking a picture via the app or select multiple photos at once when choosing the upload from gallery/files option.

  • Add a description to your documents if needed.

All documents uploaded via the mobile app will appear in the desktop version of Apron, where you or your team can review and process them further (e.g. publish to your linked QuickBooks or Xero account and/or make payments).

Settings

Under the Settings tab, you can view the following information:

  • Your name and email address – If you’d like to edit your details or login method, you can do that in the desktop version of Apron.

  • Save photos to Gallery – If you toggle this option, any new photos you take of documents via the app will be saved in your device’s gallery.

  • Contact Support – Tap this field to view our Help Center articles, which describe everything you need to know about using Apron and contact our team for additional help.

  • Terms and conditions and Privacy policy – Links to these documents are available here, or you can find them on our website.

  • Log out – You’ll find the option to log out here.
