Sometimes it makes sense to consolidate billing at the practice level. Here's how to transfer billing responsibility from a client to your practice account.
Note: when transferring billing for company plans to your practice, your practice will be charged for the client’s company plan and any overage fees.
How to transfer billing responsibility
Go to your Practice hub.
Go to the Billing section.
Select the Company plans tab.
Choose one or more companies by clicking the multi-select box next to their names.
Click Move to practice account
Confirm the change - changes apply from the 1st of the following month.
What changes when you take over billing
Your monthly invoice – You'll see additional line items for each client’s payment plan, together with any overage fees.
Client experience – Clients no longer receive billing notifications from Apron. However, their access and features remain unchanged, and they can still view their usage in their account.
Payment responsibility – You become responsible for all payments, including any overdue amounts.
Managing practice-level billing
Cost allocation – Set up client codes to help organise and bill your clients efficiently. Client codes appear in your monthly invoice breakdown reports (CSV) for easy identification.
To set up client codes – Go to the Billing > Company plans section of your Practice hub, find the client you want to add a code for, select Update client code from the three dots menu, and enter your preferred identifier (up to 50 characters).
Reversing the arrangement
If you need to switch back – Go to the Company plans tab in your Practice hub Billing section, select the relevant clients, click Move to clients account, and confirm the change.
