Company plans are separate from your Practice's Capture Plan, they allow Clients to be billed directly for their usage of the Apron Platform, but also provide the flexibility to allow Practice to manage billing for payments features on behalf of their clients. You can compare company plans here or read on to learn about to manage them.
Understanding client subscription management
Practice oversight – As a Practice hub Admin, you have full visibility over all of your clients' subscriptions, and can make changes on their behalf.
Billing responsibility – Practice (Capture) plan: Always billed to your practice. Company plans: Billed to clients by default, but you can choose to cover costs.
Default setup for clients - When you add new clients, they’re automatically added to your Capture plan and start on a free Go plan. If a client uses any payments feature, fees are billed to their account by default. However, you can transfer company plan billing to your practice if you prefer to cover these costs.
How to manage your client’s company plan subscription
From your Practice Hub, go to the Billing section, then to the Company plans tab, and view all clients with their current subscription.
Available actions – Select one or more clients and click:
Move to practice account – Transfer company plan billing from client to your practice.
Move to client’s account – Transfer company plan billing from your practice to the client.
Change plan – Update the company subscription plan (only available if your practice pays).
Managing billing arrangements
Client-paid subscriptions – When clients pay directly, you maintain oversight of their subscription status. They receive their own billing and invoices, but you can still monitor usage and provide guidance.
Practice-paid subscriptions – If your practice covers client subscriptions, all charges appear on your monthly invoice, with clear client-by-client breakdowns. You stay in control of the plan changes and upgrades.
Company plan trials
By default your clients are on the free Go plan, but at any time you can initiate a trial of Essential or Pro plans. Trials can be initiated from the Billing section. After a trial ends, the client will return to the Go plan unless you choose to confirm the upgrade to Essential or Pro. Check the details of all the plans on our website here.
Note: If customers exceed their plan limits during the free trial period, they'll be charged at normal rates for the additional payments.
