When setting up your Apron account, the information we need depends on which services you want to use. You can sign up for Payments services, Invoice capture (Bookkeeping), or both. Here's what we'll need for each.

For Invoice capture only

  • Business or charity trading name

For services including payments

  • Legal name of your business or charity

  • Company number or charity number

  • Registered office and operating address (if different from registered address)

  • Business category

  • Countries where you'll send money to

  • Types of payments you want to process (supplier invoices, payroll, employee expenses, or a mix of these)

  • How much money you expect to process with us per month

  • Details of the Beneficial Owners, owning at least 25% of the company (if any)

  • Details of company directors or charity trustees

  • If you're a sole trader, a valid identification document + evidence of business activity.

Capture usage only: If you're creating an account for a new company or client and you don't want to use the Payments feature right now, simply click the I'll do this later button when asked for the company's details. Your account will be created straight away. However, we encourage you to add all the details straight away, so that the account is verified and ready to go.

Adding Payments later

If you set up your company for Invoice capture only but want to try Payments later, we'll ask for additional details once you tell us in the app that you want to make payments. You can do this by going to the Bill pay tab and clicking Verify your company in the top-right corner. This will prompt you to provide the information listed above.
