With Apron Card, you can issue multiple expense cards to employees so that they can pay for things that help the business. You stay in full control as an Admin: Set custom spending limits, track all transactions in one place, and manage everything in the Apron app.

What is Apron Card?

Apron Card works like a prepaid card. You'll need to add money to your dedicated account (your Apron Wallet) before the cards can be used.

Your Apron subscription plan includes both virtual and physical cards:

  • Go plan – Up to 10 virtual cards and 10 physical cards

  • Essential and Pro plans – Unlimited virtual and physical cards

Note: Physical cards have a one-off issuance fee of £5 per card.

To start using Apron Card, your company account needs to be verified. If you haven't completed verification yet, you'll need to do this first.

Where you can use Apron Card

You can use Apron Card for both UK and international payments at any merchant which accepts Mastercard.

You can spend in both GBP and foreign currencies. When a payment is made in a foreign currency, we convert using the Mastercard exchange rate, and we don't charge any extra fees.

You can check the current Mastercard rates on their official website.

Using Apron Card: How it works

If you're an Admin or Owner, you can create and manage Apron Card both in the Apron mobile app and on the desktop version.

Key points about how cards work:

  • Virtual cards are ready to use as soon as you top up your Apron Wallet.

  • Physical cards are ready to use with your Digital Wallet or you can pay online right away. To use your card in-store, you’ll need to activate it first using Chip and PIN.

  • You only need to top up once. All cards share the same Wallet balance.

  • Funds stay in your Wallet until they're used.

  2. Select one or more cards.
